Your Path to Safety and New Beginnings.
VADVN’s core mission is Healing, Empowerment, and Safety.

Saving lives, creating new beginnings in Sonoma County

Our Mission

Domestic violence is a painful reality affecting over 2,000 of our neighbors in Sonoma County each year. But for those facing it, the reasons for staying can be overwhelming. Abusers exploit vulnerabilities like financial dependence, the uncertainty of housing, and the fear of losing pets or children, creating powerful barriers that make leaving seem impossible. As a survivor, I founded Voices Against Domestic Violence Network because I believe no one should have to face this alone.
Our mission is to be the first call for law enforcement, first responders, and victims, providing a reliable and immediate response for everyone—men, women, and LGBTQ individuals. We also provide support for victims of sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. VADVN provides housing, counseling, legal aid, child care, and pet care to help victims rapidly leave an abusive relationship. We are committed to offering a complete solution that breaks down those barriers, providing free, confidential support so that every person can save their life and begin a new future.

Our Solution

VADVN is an all-in-one safe haven designed to dismantle these barriers. Our single, secure location provides everything a survivor needs to start over, all in one place:
       Free:
  • Transitional  Housing: Immediate safety and a place to call home.
  • Legal Aid: Expert assistance with restraining orders and other legal matters.
  • Confidential Counseling: Professional support for healing from trauma.
  • On-site Child Care: A safe, fun place for children, so you can focus on your needs.
  • Pet Care: We ensure your beloved pets are safe, too."
  • Community education & awareness
  • Case Management: Our compassionate advocates work with you to create a personalized roadmap for your healing and recovery. We help you connect with essential resources like financial assistance and job opportunities, so you can rebuild your life with independence.
  •  24/7 call center: staffed by compassionate professionals, so no matter when you need help, someone is there to listen and help you create a safety plan. We are here to help you get back on your feet and build a life free from violence.
  • Life-Saving Protection: As one survivor articulated: "Leaving him was the most dangerous moment of my life; all I wanted was someone to walk me safely to the courthouse." VADVN provides Professional Escorts to prevent stalking and homicide when victims must travel to court, work, or other necessary locations. Furthermore, VADVN staff will individually evaluate the risk level of each case and will advocate for the offender to wear a GPS ankle tracker under the authority of California Penal Code 136.2 and AB 2467, providing an extra layer of real-time, court-ordered safety.
For Victims: Your journey to a life free from fear starts here. We are a single click or call away.
